Default still confused about resistor box wiring

i have a 97 integra with an obd1 ecu

im confused because some ppl say tocut the 4 same color wires going from the injectors and connect the individually to the black wires on the resitor box and connect the red wire to the other end of the 4 wires that were cut off..

and some posts i looked at say something about checking continuity and cutting into some plug...

i need to get this last minute thing straightened out before i start my turbo install

If you dont check for continuity you wont know which wires are your injector wires (there are like 8 of the same color ones in the plug).

In my sig is a FS:resistor box link, in there is my write up on a solderless install (no cutting OEM wires)

I just did my resistor box install yesterday. IF you're looking at the car from the front, the top three wires on the right side and the bottom wire on the left, that's where the black wires go. The red wire splices into the other four.

so the wires would go from the injectors to the resistor box, then for the box to the clip? the other end of the wires that were originallly leading to the injectors would just be taped off?

there's a graphic pic on hondata.com of how to wire up the resistor box. I suggest you go browse around on there for it and take a look at it.

There are LOTS of threads about this. DONT just follow Hondata or someone elses instructions on which wires because there have been people on here that once they checked continuity have had different wires be the ones they needed.

but i will have to cut into that clip, right? not just wire the resistor box "inline" withe the injector wires?

Alright I'll explain this is best as I can. I also have an Integra so it's the same wires. That harness near the firewall on the driver side has only 8 wires, and they're all black and yellow. The top three on the right and the bottom one on the left is where the black wires go. The red wires go to the OTHER four. Simple enough. Get some wire loom and make it look like stock.

If you dont check for continuity you run the risk of messing it up. All 8 wires look the same and they are not always in the same locatin in that connector on every car.

IT DOES NOT MATTER WHICH CAR YOU HAVE.

You must check continuity on the wires, or you are just taking a shot in the dark. Civic, Integra, whatever.... it doesn't matter. I've done 4 integras and they all had the wires in different locations.

Definately check the continuity! To do this, unplug the clips from the 4 injectors and unplug the clip that has the 8 black/yellow wires. Use a voltmeter ( I think thats what its called) and put one end to the back/yellow wire on the injector clip and the other end to each of the a pins on the big clip, until the needle moves significantly. Use a permanent marker and mark the ones that lead to the injectors. Cut these 4 wires in 1/2 about a inch from the big harness. The 4 black wires on the resistor box, go to the injectors. The red wire goes to the other end of the 4 wires that you cut.

What I did was(engine out of car mind you) trace the black/yellow to the connector on the drive side engine harness. I took those 4 wires and wired each one individually to a spare connector I had. Then the resistor black wires to the same connector so they would all match up. I then ran the red wire to the connector and from there to the original connector that the black/yellow wires went to. Now you only need to run the wire to the connector because if you take that connector apart(8 spaces on it). It has a metal ring on the male side that connects all the wires together. So you only need to run the red wire into that connector. It turned out really good and clean with a little electrical tape and wire loom. Ill try and get pics up tomm of how I did the install.
