This CP piston is available off the shelf for the hardcore racers in only 85mm at 13.4-1 and 86mm at 13.6-1. Dome volume on both is 7.7 cc's, weight is 271 grams and comes with a short pin as standard.

i got a question if u could possibly answer earl. how are CPs CRs derived??? IB spec 13.4:1 pistons off the shelf also have 8.3 CC domes. so i guess it comes down to what measurement the deck height is at for these CRs.

 

CPs are measured at Zero-Deck.

thanx superdave, ive been trying to figure out which piston manufacturers use what deck height in their calculations

 

Dome CC's should be measured net of the volume above the top ring to the deck of the piston. CP take this into account.

Don't forget these are 85 and 86mm rather than that other guys 84's (I think). I don't know anything about what they do or how they do it.

 

 

either way earl its goin to b a hot seller for CP. i know jeff @ IB cant keep his "super dupers" on the shelf. i personally had to wait 6 weeks or longer for mine to show up. good job to CP for gettin a bigger dome piston out there. 12:1 just dont cut it anymore. if i build my old motor over the winter ill pick up some CPs just for some comparison reasons over my wiseco built units now.
