lightweight flywheel and a shorter(numerically higher) final drive will give you an increase in tq.

correct me if i'm wrong but i was under the impression that a lighter flywheel would HURT low-end torque not help, again correct me if i'm wrong. The final drive is a great idea

Find old b18 shortblock. Use your pistons and the ls crank. This will give you more power and torque. Higher compression will require a re-tune but a great bang for the buck for streetable performance. You can recoupe some of your cost on short-block selling yours.

Think about it for a second. How could lightening the rotating assembly cause a loss of power?

Quicker revs with a shorter final drive will get you through the gears much faster.

I wasnt sure, thanks for the info, i didnt want to spread any untrue info on H-T. When talking about lightened flywheels there are a bunch of opinions on H-T and you know what the say about opinions! But speaking from personal experiance more displacement does the job as well.

Can't argue that.

This is often said because you lose some inertia by going with the lighter fw... ie you may have to raise rpm slightly to break the tires loose or to pull the car from the line with the lighter fw as compared to the heavier stock piece. In contrast, if you are already in gear and rolling (clutch out) the lighter unit will show more tq everywhere and make rev matching easier.

You have pretty much the same setup I have....I just added:
ITR manifold with Outlaw engineering gasket
milled head with mild bowl work
Fidanza flwheel
4.785 final drive
cam gears

My car is much stronger than before with the addition of these mods.

i wish i knew to bore my b18c out before it got built, so i have the light flywheel and 4.7final drive, just got it done recently and i love it, but im sure it wont feel as fast after i get used to it.............if i had to do it over again i would do both bore and final drive......"no replacement for displacement"
