main power relay repair
Where is the mian power relay. I looked Where everyone said to look, removed what i thought should be it, opened up the case and found coils not a chip. This obviously wasn't the maijn power relay. I've been underneaht the dash so if someone could give a little more detail direction as to where it or what it says on it then it would be appreciated.
It's defenitely the main power relay. If it's really hot out, i'll go to tunr on my car and it'll chug for a second and then won't turn over. It also does this when i put gas into the tank sometimes but not all the time. after letting it cool down for about 20 minutes it'll usually just start right up. Other people on the forum have had this same problem and it has been the main power relay. I actually just found another site that said that is is located behind the cruise control. Can anyone verify this?

Without seeing a picture I don't know for certain but it sounds like you did pull the main relay. It is a relay with copper wound rods in it. It is not a "chip". When people refer to it as a chip they are usually just talking about the circuit board the magnetic coil sits on.

Hey, I found a site with pics and instructions on how to locate and repair your main relay. I'm guilty of calling the circuit board a microchip board. Sorry for the confusion. I think this site will help you out a lot. There are other sites out there if this one doesn't help you. Just use google. Here's the link.
