Default Car drives like total crap in the rain... HELP?

Ok...

Today after driving in the POURING rain my car started to feel like it was bogging down and about to shut off. It would drop down really to really low rpms and idle there while being stopped at a light or something.

I NEVER had this problem during a day with good weather [no rain]. This is the second time this has happened [i barely EVER drive in the rain because i can't see through the windows no matter what i do since i dont have a/c] The first time this happened was when I got caught in a bad storm on a highway.

Yes I do have an intake but its an SRI not a CAI

Symptoms - Low RPMs and Sluggish feeling
Condition- Heavy downpour Rain

help, please.

My guess is you might have water being sucked up your intake.

have you had the SRI for a while? maybe needs cleaning. I'm thinking re-oil, sounds like the filter is becoming saturated with all the moisture, not sucking in water, just hindering air flow. Clean the filter and re-oil it.

How would I go about cleaning the filter and what exactly is re-oiling it? The SRI came with my engine so only god knows how long its been on there.

If that's not the problem... could it be anything else?

i had a simialr problem with my subaru
I changed the o2 sensors and it never happened after that

It also could be that when you hit some puddles or when you make a turn your wheels kick up some water under your hood and somehow get your ignition wires wet.

Well good luck with the problem

If it's a reusable filter (K&N or the likes) you can just wash it with some Simple Green and a brush and then use filter oil to reoil it.
