possible to make an exhaust bolt on with this muffler........
I recently bought a muffler simaler to this on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33636
The problem is that I went to Midas in New Hampshire and they say it will not pass inspection. They said they could install it for $175 which I find a waste of money. One of my friends gave me this idea of making a bolt on kit where the muffler would be readily accessible to remove once inspection is required. The only problem that doesnt make much sense is that the exhaust system is one piece and welded together. So im looking for some kind of idea that will allow to switch mufflers out without any kind of mending of welding needed......

It won't pass inspection because it's a cheap eBay muffler. dB laws and emissions come into play. If you want a good setup buy a whole exhaust system, buy a cat-back set up. If you read the basic info for accords thread up top, there's a section on exhaust that you might find helpful. These exhausts are 50 state legal
good luck!
good luck!
You should get it installed properly the first time instead of messing around with it later NTM if it is safely installed the first time, no chance for it coming off or any other mishaps
.
Why won't the muffler just bolt on or get welded on?
Why will putting it on will it not pass inspection?

yea, what kind of inspection are we talking about? i doub its smog, cuz that exhaust wont created, or reduce smog emitted from your car.
my friend has an 01 celica or somethin like that, and he had his exhaust put on, and instead of welding it, he welded a flange on the exhaust part, and a flange on stock piping of his car, and was able to switch exhausts so that he could hide it from his parents.
anyways, when he has his aftermarket exhaust on, it looks like **** because it hangs down too low. just not worth it, unless you want your car to look like ****.

Im talking about state inspection. They say it wont pass becuase it will be too loud. Supposedly in NH the police are all over this. I suppose I can try to sell to someone else......
