Bought 89 CRX ... is B16A too tall for bonnet?
Just bought a nice red 89 CRX in Australia, for the purpose of fitting Vtec to have a nice toy which will see occasional track days.
Was planning on buying a 1/2 cut JDM EF Civic or CRX SiR with cable tranny, but have recently been told the Vtec head is taller than the D16A and will hit the standard bonnet which has the bubble relief for the cam sprockets.
Can this be so??? Will I need to do a bonnet swap with SIR CRX to fit B16A?
Or do the HAsport mounts lower the B16A enough to clear the bonnet?
Please help as I will be selling the car before I go to the trouble of swapping body panels to fit this motor!

My b18a fits with the stock hood couldn't tell you if the b16 vtec is a bit taller though, I think you can get away with cutting a bit form the underside of the stock hood if it does hit real easy.
If you have a B18 with stock bonnet that is what I need to know.
So what mounts did you use, the Hasport?
Do they just bolt straight in or do you need to modify to lower engine?
