95 Civic vs. 95 Del Sol HELP!!!
Ok here is the story i want a "new" car and right now with insurance and dependibility my only choices are a Civic and a Del Sol. I like the looks of the Del Sol Better but the Civic has more room and stuff, I want to know which one is more dependable, and i know they are really close to being the same car, but one has to have more problems with heating/ac or like wind noise. I don't really care what year i get but i heard that the 95 del sol has a fixed seal on the roof and i just chose the same year for the civic. any help would be great.

1. I like how they look, if you don't idk
2. 2 seats wasa one of the reasons i wanted it, i hate being the ride bitch
but thank you if they are both identical i will prolly get the del sol, when the time/money/right one comes

You mentioned wind noise, because of the targa top, its a bit more noisy than a solid roof civic. There are ways to shim the top to help the rattling and/or replace the seals though. I haven't done it to ours yet so I can't tell you the results, but others say it works wonders.
Oh, and sol's aren't ugly.

del sol's are uglier than civics in my opinion...but i like the 2 seater deal...just you and your girl hehe. performance wise, i think they are pretty much the same. pick whichever you will feel comfortable with. it's not my car.

Were you saying that stock for stock a delsol si (sohc Vtec) is faster than a civic with a sohc vtec? Reason I ask is because last I checked thats the same motor and the delsol is a heavier car.... so in essance the sol would be slower.

Did you buy your son a sol and watch 'da mad hot' bitches loving the t-top?
I have nothing against sols, but coupe has a better advantage.
Oh and someone mentioned the Si Sol was faster than a z6 coupe, wrong.

thumbs up for keeping PS and AC
i had a 94 Z6 Sol w/ IHE and barely beat a 99 Si, like not even a 1/4 car length. so i'm assuming i would have had no problem with a 95 EX. this is stock interior, etc.
but then again i still wasn't happy and did THE b swap... then i wrecked the car and sold it, now it has a teg front end on it.... holy cow.

no way a del sol sohc vtec (SI) model can beat a dual cam SI civic.. way difference 30 horses and 8 lbs torque no way u won on an intake ha.. laughs all day.. neways.. the del sol vtec which is the b16a3 cost probably around 7000.. i think delsols are harder maintenace with abs and all that too. but i love that lil car if i didnt have a hatch i would get one... del sol s is the weak one.. the si is the sohc vtec and the vtec is the dohc vtec which would be good to have cuz u wouldnt have to swap at all...

How is having ABS and "all that" make it higher maintenance? FYI MOST del sols do NOT have abs.

Go with the del sol. Only honda dorks think the coupe is better.
To the outside world the del sol looks nicer and will attract
more attention esp with some nice cosmetics (no rice!).
Heavy? Whatever, if you are not drag racing it, then
it does not matter. The handling is not affected by it.
And not all tops leak. I have 200k miles on a 93,
original seals on the top, not one drop of water.
However it does creak on bumpy roads.
When the top comes off, even a slow sol feels fast...

laugh all you want, i garauntee it won't be as hard as i was after it happened. why the **** would i come on here and claim something that isn't true? the result of 4 races, i won 3. for those that know me on here or what i drive, they know i'm not that type of person. as someone else already said, not all Sols are ABS. you = fucktard
i'd recommend getting a del Sol S and swapping a B in there.
