After parking at my parents house and coming out to my car, I noticed a small puddle under it. It seemed almost like oil but I didnt see any leaks or anything so I went on with my day. I was driving when I noticed my D4 light was flashing. Glancing accross my dashboard, I then noticed my temperature gauge was peaked out at HOT!!!! The Check Engine light then came on. I pulled over and after inspection, found my radiator and reserve tank empty and bone dry. It was about 80 degrees that day and I did have the AC on. I went to the nearest store and bought a gallon of coolant and a quart of oil for good measure. After putting both of them in and waiting 15 minutes withthe heat cranked, everything went back to normal. I made my way to the local Jiffy-Lube type joint and they did an oil change and everything looked OK. They topped off the coolant but didnt see any leaks. When they removed the radiator cap, it did spit quite a bit so there was pressure built in there as there should have been. They did, however, say something about needing a transmission fluid flush sometime soon (100,000 miles). Anyone know what the heck happened on that fateful day??? Was it my radiator, my transmission, what? Is the D4 light just a general "There's a problem" light to notify us? Any help would be great!
