question Honda Civic 1998 Hx.
Hello people I did a Search on this topic and I didn't found an answer for my question. I just bought a 1998 Honda civic HX. It has 105,000 miles two days after I bought the car the Maintainance light went on. I asked the previous owner about it and he said that is nothing is that after many mails that thing become sensitive that is nothing to worry about. He told me change Oil at 106,500 (every 3,000 miles) and that I should do a major tune up at 110,000 miles(check break, oil and tires) and that at 120,000 I should change timing belt. I just want to know if I should trust him about that the maintanance light and it just need to be reseted. I know that is I go to a Honda Mechanic I'll be ripped off.
thanks in advance,
thanks in advance,
Yes, the maintenance light is just to remind people to change oil and things like that. There is nothing to worry about, just reset it by placing your car key in the little slot by the maintenace light.
I have a 97 HX and 105k was the major tune up. Timeing belt, drive belts, water pump and full inspection. I think I paid around 500. You can do all this yourself and save about 200 but you'll need to buy the honda lower pulley tool which is $88.
