Default K Series CRVTEC ??

Maybe it's been covered before, but has anyone done the new K series buildup with the CRV bottom end and Type S/Si head? Searched for it but saw nothing. Send me links, pictures, stories, numbers, anything you got. Thinking about the swap before the LEASE is up on my '03 Civic EX. Thanks.....................

i thought it was supposed to be a good thing to use the bottom end from the crv. Then i seen all of the problems skunk2 is having with that combo trying to get that setup to run right, and they're still having problems. So at this point i don't think it would be a good idea.

Where did you read about Skunk2 having the problems? Do you have any links or is it in their website?

I found the article on SCC magazine. Thanks. DOesnt look that difficult to build. The problem is the RSX K20A2 engine is MAD EXPENSIVE !! The K24 CRV engine is only $1200 on Ebay.

hondata said it's an easy swap, it bolts right up. You just can't rev high because of the highly increased piston speed due to the longer stroke of the k24. Power dies after 6800 rpm or so, but its a good deal torquier.

You can't use the tsx manifold, its drive by wire. You have to use one from a k20

yep.

and to the longer stroke... you can always destroke it to 2.3L and have a nice reving motor. That's what Hytech did with their K24.

both of you are wrong. a RSX-S/R manifold will not work on a TSX. Get informed before telling me otherwise.

and to proove i'm not talking out of my *** here's a pic i took of my head.

without it you'd have coolant leaking seriously out and would seize it withing a couple minutes of it being started.
