New wiring equals 12 whp
Honda's stock electrical system is nice, the ignition is some of the best in the market, minus are little problem with the hatcahi ignitors. I had a little extra dyno time and instead of getting my money back i thought i would go and try some things. The main idear came from jdmlifestyles wire harness job, all this grounding kit bs, and general automotive knowledge.
I took out the harness and jumped up to a high grade 14g wires for the ENTIRE harness. This took a week. It was insane ammount of work.. but the more a signal/current travels the weaker it gets. Look at the voltage from your alt to your headlights.. it does drop. So i replaced all the wires and connectors to full 14g, some area's i crimped down to 16g cuase of the adapters. With the wire harness done the bulbs, interior lights, everything jumped right up in light.
I then attacked the grounds.. i ran 8 and 12 gauge with high quality brass fittings and sanded down the surface for all. Connecting each in a circle pattern.
distrubtor.. this was a little over kill.. but thats just how i do it. I took out the ignitor and soldered a more complete connection on the terminals. I then put some pertective coating to keep it from corasion/elments. Replaced the cap/rotor and spark plugs and drove off. Nice diffrence.. my *** dyno said 15hp.. but it was hard to guage.
Got on the dyno and gained 12hp. Brighter lights in and out, and something to do for a couple days
So basically bs.
