H22a into 1991 accord and keeping the f22 auto tranny using P13 auto ecu QUESTIONS Help me out!
I have a auto accord 91 and is going to put a JDM H22a engine in it and keeping the f22 auto tranny, also using a jdm P13 auto ecu. Do I have to use the auto control unit from the original f22 or do I have to use the auto control unit from a prelude? Please help me out guys.....
P.S. -- I know , I know why am I using an auto? Well, I live in a busy city and don't feel like shifting in one hour of traffic everyday.

correct if im wrong (Which is very possible in this situation), but i would think you would used the F22 TCU since the gearing is different in each tranny.

sounds reasonable to me.
sounds reasonable to me.
the accord tcu is set to shift at no higher than 6200 rpm...to match the accord f22 engine....use the p13 tcu it you want it to shift higher, if not you will need to manually shift when getting on it.
persoanlly id use the lude one...

I'm having this same problem but I have the lsd prelude tranny....supposedly I dont have to have the TCU its just a wiring problem....we will see today or tomorrow when it is fixed
hey,
Did you run your car yet? How fast are you going in a quarter mile? I'm gonna do the swap very soon into my 4th gen accord. Any suggestions. Oh, did you have the auto tensioner fixed to a manual on your h22a? Do we have to have it fixed? Thanks a lot.

My car right now is in the shop having all the wiring done. I don't know anything about the auto tensioner or anything so I guess the answer is no. The only problem I had was that the power steering lines are different and I had to get a fuel line custom made. Other then all the problems having to manually shift the transmission cause it wasn't wired up right...it has been good so far. Everything should be fixed and worked out by this friday.

hey,
I think you have to convert the auto tensioner to manual because I heard from other professional 4th gen accord that already done the swap did this conversion to avoid the problem with the valve train. They told me that the valve train would get screwed up because while at launch the timing belt might skip a tooth or something like that. I'm not sure specifically what it is. But they said it's something you might want to look into. Since your car is in the shop, ask the mechs about that issue. O keep me up to date on your car too..
