Default Question About Seafoam and My Civic

I was wondering, do those of you who used seafoam replace the brake booster line or can you use same booster line after?

Another thing. I went to napa today and they said they wouldn't recommend the brake booster line. He was saying how there was a valve or something in the brake booster and if that brakes because of the seamfoam, then it's over for your brake booster. Is this true?

Also, if i only put seamfoam through the gas tank and crankcase, do i just do 1/2 and 1/2?

yea theres a valve between the brake booster and the manifold. you can put it in right after the valve so you wont damage it.

a y8??? the check valve is internal on the booster line , just disconnect it at the booster and let it suck some down.

it is a internal engine cleaner. They say it is the best . on the maket that you can buy. Unless you tear the motor down and replace alot of parts.

Yes, I did this to my Y8 about 3 weeks ago. I had to throttle it a little in order to get 1/3 into the intake without stalling. I used a funnel and poured it in, to prevent getting too much in by sticking the line into the bottle.

Then 1/3 in the gas, 1/3 in the crank. Wait 5 min, started it up, smoked like a beyotch, and went for a spirited drive.

Changed the plugs and oil, and I've got quite a bit more gas milage, and the car runs smoother (and it's not just the plug / oil change, because they were done 3K prior).

depends, its kind of regional, I just went to the gas station and got it.. its very common where i live it, this stuff is old school as hell, been around since the 60's.. But i hear in places like CA napa usually carries it..

And to the original poster, no, you do not need to replace your brake booster line, it will not damage it at all.. and, yeah, dont stick the line in the bottle, there is enough suction there to suck a little up at a time if you stick it near the mouth, and tip the bottle... I should do a write up on this stuff... it pops up here and there, and people have alot of questions.. main thing thought, this stuff rocks, its not a gimic! to seafoam

Got mine at Parts America, I think it's the same as advance, or maybe it's not called PA anymore. Either way, the guys at autozone just gave me a confused look when I asked for it. So check a few stores, someone should stock it. Best $5 maintenance item I've bought yet.

http://www.yotatech.com/showthread.php?t=35112 very good reviews

i just used a can in my tank today, noticed after about 10 miles or so, i get a nicer throttle response. haven't done the intake clean up job yet, kinda chicken, but'll i'll do it the next time i have money to spend. don't just let the booster line or any line just suck up the stuff, you might end up like one of the guys on yotatech who hydrolocked and threw a rod. SLOWLY poor it into the line, and back off at any point that its going to feel like its gonna stall. good luck with this cool product and i hope you read those reviews and have great results, i'm very happy with the way my runner is acting. oh yes, some of those guys have had on average 1 or 2 average mpg gains!!! thats big for me, who averaged on the last tank 14mpg =/
