i lowered my car with coilovers (94 honda accord lx 4 door) and i put arospeed coilovers.. i didnt change the struts out so they are still stock and my dad went to a racing place and they said it destroys the strut.. how does it do that and how long will the struts work for.. the car has like 135k on it. thx

 

sh-tty coilover+ old strut= ultra sh-tty ride.

it blew the shock because it was not intended to damper the shortened ride height and spring rate.

that's why they have aftermarket shock/strut like agx, tokico, toni for lowered car with a stiffer springrate.

and what is a racing place btw?

 

i have the same dilemma on one of my accords, the thing about this whole situation is that i have koni adjustables, so im taking out my HP racing coilover which is horrible, i bought them like 6 years ago, and im getting either a set of skunk2's or a set of tein lowering springs, i'll have myself about an inch and a quarter drop, and a comfortable *** ride, with my coils right now i can feel every bump in my teeth!

 

i havent blown my struts.. people are saying they will blow becuz of the way i lowered it i was just wondering y and how low.. i dont have the money for full coilovers.. (700+..) i dont have a great ride but i dont care.. my dad is makin me mad cuz i wanna race and people tell him things like this and he wont let me race.. i cant wait till im 18.. lolz thx for info and if ne1 got full suspension.. for cheap holla back plz i would be very happy

 

look for eibach sportlines and kyb agx... that combo is perfect... i have it and ive never been happier! coilovers provide a pretty bumpy ride, springs do the job and ride much better.
