y would u get a accord axle if u got a prelude engine yo.. that doesnt make sense to me at all.. is the tranny for a prelude or accord also.. and the prelude puts out more torque to the wheels.. accord axles have different torque ratios then for prelude. im pretty sure he would have to go with prelude, especially if it comes from the tranny but im not definitely sure like the other guy but i would do more research then listen to one person.. it would deffinetely make more sense in my mind to go with a prelude axle, listen to what couple other people have to say. im kinda confused becauze there are splines on the axle that go into the tranny and thru the brake.. and thats a hard question to answer but if the other guy is sure bout it then he may be right. the harder i think about it the more im leaning toward going to a race store to find out... sorry if i confuse u or put a delimma in ur head, just dont want ne1 wastin 60+ dollars on a unneeded axle
sorry guys im not perfect.. i dont no everything in the world i just no that when i put my axles in my stock honda accord they are only rated for like 140 pounds of torque.. i said i wasnt sure n i would check with other people first but i would deffinently think u need upgraded accord axles atleast.. if u go over the rate of the axle ull be putting new ones in all day and tearing apart the insides of them.. i no that. lolz sorry for posting what i WASNT SURE OF to everyone that likes to be azzholes...

sounds like someone doesnt know what they are talking about.

if the swap was done right it would be using accord axles to fit the accord chassis. prelude axles are longer and will bind and fail quicker.

prelude and accord splines are identical at the tranny and the hub.

Hey 16.45_stock_94accord does it make sense that earth is a sphere? Or do you think it's flat, since it's logical to you?

Yo B,

Be nice. Don't attack the poor guy. He's only 16.45.

Seriously, we all know the world is flat.

How long before you replace your grinding axles anyway?

Hopefully soon. I just replaced the front engine mount, since my old one had cracks in it. I got a cracked windshield to take care of before I change the axles.

he is kinda right though in assuming that accord axles aren't deisgned for the H22s power. what he doesn't know of course is that the lude axles will break due to binding from being too long before the accord axles will fail from all the extra power.

KGAccord how's the WRX treating you?

You had the 5th gen accord right? Did you use the stock axles?

the rex is nice , except for turbo lag

yep, i had accord axles in the swap. i broke my passenger side axle twice in 2yrs and i don't even that hard. it could also be that i was using reman axles too.

Is that an aftermarket brand? What were some of the symptoms of a broken axle?

EDIT: Is that an STI?

i used CCT remanufactured axles that came from autozone. CCT is what most part stores carry. i believe that a stock oem axle would have faired a bit better. reman axles in general i don't think are as strong as a new axle.
