I have a 92 accord that i just rebuilt. had the head worked at a shop with new valve seals, no cracks found. head was milled. put new rings, well within tolerances, cylinder walls were in great condition as well. new rod and main bearings, gaskets and seals. when i first started it up, no smoke no nothing. its been setting now for about a month and i went to start it just to let it run a while and smoke out the wazooo. while just idling its not that apparent but hit the gas and its like a forest fire. its blueish tinted smoke too. I did a compression check and every cylinder was 180. plugs looked white in color except for #1 and #4 which were black in color but not oily looking to me. pvc valve is working fine. so what else should i look for? yes, oil was low but i dont remember if i had topped it off all the way after rebuild. its about a pint low. what could be causing this smoke if everything seems to be checking out ok as far as the integrity of the motor?

 

Sounds like the rings did not seat or you lined up all the gaps in the rings.

 

gaps arent lined up, all staggered. what do you mean by seated? broke in?

 

yes the rings have to seat properly and it sounds like they didnot seat well on two of your cylinders.
