maybe a fuse went out.. the fuse is connected to the harness that connects to the brain of the alarm

it's in valet mode. you probably hit a button on your transmitter.

Yes you are in one of the valet modes , armed valet,or full valet, just push and hold valet button on remote till led on dash blinks 2 times, you can tell if you are in one of the valet modes by the led, if it comes on for about 1 sec. when you turn off ign. or open a door.
Do you know that you can also turn off the warning modes,[soft impact and outside prox.] or just the chirps of warning modes [so just the lights flash]????

hope this helps 94

I just picked up a new crx yesterday which has a alpine sec-150r.... and I cant figure out the alarm for my life. The only thing on the transmitter that seems to do anything is holding down the panic button, which triggers the alarm, but pressing it again does not turn it off! I was actually able to program the functions, and everything was working like it should an dI turned on auto-arm. So now when I leave the car, it arms itself, but I cant disable it with the remote! I have to do the valet-disable by turning ignition on and pressing valet button within 5 seconds. I thought it was a dead battery in the transmitter, so I replaced them and seem exact result.

Anyone have any ideas? It also came with a pager (sec-8205) but that doesnt seem to do anything either (replaced the battery) even though I have tripped the alarm countless times.

Thanks

First do you have only one remote? if so someone has the other one ,the 150 comes with two, have you tried reprograming the remote? if not, do it 5 times [alpine alarms can have 4 remotes programed into them] that way you erase any that are in it. go to http://www.alpine.com
hope this helps 94

ps If you trip the panic, you turn it off with the arm/disarm button.

Yes, I have both remotes. I did reprogram one of the remotes anyway. I set it back to manual arm, and neither of the remotes can arm or disarm the system. They can only panic it by holding down arm/disarm... and pressing arm/disarm does NOT stop the panic. Its weird, the car is recieving the signal that it can program the remote, program the functions, panic the system... but the transmitters cant do anything else. No car find, no arming, no anything.

Im getting really fed up.

Wrong, best alarm out there, they don't carry them anymore because Alpine no longer makes alarms, they are revamping the alarm line to be GPS based. I have had my 8058 for 8 years and its in my 3rd car.

Skitals, when you reprogramed the remote, did the alarm acknowledge that the remote was programed? and are you using the remote to program passive/active arming? also how many times does the led blink on the remote when you push the arm/disarm button? 94

Yes, the alarm acknowledged it when I reprogramed the remote (hold down valete and turn ignition on and off three times, press mode on the remote, and release valet) by chirping. And yes, I am using the remote to program the alarm functions (have key in ignition, hold valet for one second, etc etc). It works exactly as on the programming chart I have as far as chirping, and the led flashing.

when I press arm/disarm on the remote, the led blinks two times. Now that you mention it, that sorta seems odd. Maybe that's related to the problem?

So I can use the remote to panic the system (but not stop the panic) and to program the alarm when inside the car with the alarm disarmed... but I cant arm or disarm!

thanks so much, this has been driving me crazy, and there is absolutely no documentation out there besides the book and chart I have.

HAAAAAAAAAAAA your remotes are set for car 2 operation they should only blink once, that is why panic on and not off work and why programing works. I cant remember how you switch to car one ,but I will get back to you right away, 94

Does anyone have the 8205 pager to go along with this alarm? The pager just doesnt seem to work. When I am standing right next to the car and get the radar sensor to chirp the pre-warn alarm at me... the pager doesnt get anything. What could be the problem?
