Default Gsr cluster in Eg write up??? New pics

well I kind of made a write up for putting a gsr cluster in the eg's, don't know if anyone is interested. This works well for people that have the dx eg's since they don't have a tach and want to upgrade to a gsr cluster. Let me know if anyone might be interested and ill post it. 98ctr

Update:

Parts needed:
-Gsr cluster from any Integra Gsr 96-00

-Gsr plugs for the cluster (from your local junk yard)
(the pins from the 5g civic will not work on the gsr plugs so you need the two plugs and about 4" of the wires so you can cut and solder to the civic harness)

-Solder and solder gun, I will encourage to solder and shink tube all the connections. Do it right the first time and you wont regret it later.

-Dremmel tool. You will need to cut the top of the gsr cluster to be able to fit back your civic panel back into place.

-Two zip ties or you can fabricate two small brackets to screw the gsr cluster in the civic mounting holes (gsr cluster is a bit longer so the zip ties works grate)

Steps:

1. Remove civic panel
2. Remove civic cluster
3. Cut and solder wires ONE AT A TIME so you don't get confused in all the mess
4. Trim top mounting bracket on the gsr cluster
5. Use tow zip ties to place gsr cluster in place of the civic cluster
6. Trim civic panel on the left and right side so it clears the gsr cluster
7. Put back the panel and enjoy your new DIY mod.

Here is the wiring:

its hard to tell what goes where, but they are in numerical order. All the wires colors from the integra match the civic except a couple of them on the second plug. 98ctr

dont do it...its not worth the hassle that **** is a bitch i just gave up on it.

the hardest part of that swap would be to find the cluster plugs...and the trimming to actually make it LOOK GOOD. I have only seen very few...1 or 2 that LOOKS OKAY.

Well that is your oppinion, I just did one on my friends dad civic and it looks decent. It took me about 1 hr. The plugs you can get from the junk yard, all you have to do is find an integra and tell them you need the plugs, or tell them you need something else on the car.(hint)

its impossible to find a integra or even a civic in california's junkyards. dont give me wrong gsr cluster is pretty cool but its a pain the get the plugs and trimming the edges perfect.
