I took my 00 civic EX to mechanic because brake were not good. He told me that master cylinder is bad. My car got only 35000 miles on. How this is possible.
How much is it to fix.

 

low fluid levels can allow dirt to get into where the o-ring seal is.
then the dirt will scratch it and ruin the seal.

or dirt in there can do it too.

statisticly, someones has to fail early, maybe youre just the unlucky one...

 

I got a BRAND NEW aftermarket master for 100 bucks... and I didn't even shop around... just ordered it from the first parts place.

Honda one's are probobly expensive... I would'nt bother with stock unless it's free under warranty.

Rebuild kits are also generally dirt cheap and available... not sure on honda one's though...

What did he say to make it bad? was it leaking? He needs to provide you with specific reason to say its bad or he is frauding you.. so check the work order and it has to say WHY it is bad
