Hey guys whats goin on. Ok to start this off I love civics but I just cant stand the sound of their power(or lack of). I was curious if their was a mechanic or someone that knows more then me about engines and cars and could tell me if a 2003 or 2004 ford svt cobra engine would fit snug into a 95 hatchback...... If it does then this post may be the beginning to my journey/ Dream car. A sleeper with a blown 350

BTW, the cobra motor is a 280, not a 350.

for the work involved and a heavy engine with only 290 hp, its totally not worth it. just boost a b series past that

they put out 390 , and i dont want a damn mustang i want somethin original, every ****** girl has a mustang, and i see cobras alll day long out here..whats the fun in that. Yeah, Civics and Mustangs never really did get along...

 

A company makes Focuses with Cobra engines in them, they tested a car in an issue of Sport Compact Car. the April 04 issue. ATI Focus, 470hp and 466lbft. They are about $65k though. Oh yeah, it can turn to, runs the slalom only 1mph slower than the evoVIII and pulls 1+g on the skidpad

I dunno if i'd wanna pay that much for the car, but ****, that would be a rediculous sleeper, without opening the hood you can't tell it's got any modification at all... well... i guess you have to be deaf... lol

 

just a thought....dont civics use ALL METRIC and fords use ALL STANDARD??? sounds like more of an issue that slappin the motor in the engine bay. thats not including a wire harness and blah blah blah.....man....you are better off just dreaming.

The point is imports/domestic don't mix. Just buy an SVT, rather than killing another hatch.

 

I HATE Mustangs...God I hate them...some *** pulls up next to me and rev's up his engine and laughs..whatever mother ******..we'll see who's laughing when u get turbo stuck in your pony's ***.. Mustangs

 

I had the same idea going too. For example gettin a nice fat crate engine for 4gs with 400 hp and custom swappin it. I got faith in it and it is possible, but the question is HOW MUCH money do you have? I got the same feelin tho, cant stand that annoyin civic sound, my civic sounds weak too, but my cuz has a 92 stang that puts out 392 at the wheels and sounds like a ****** monster, good luck

wtf... thats a big waste of money...

i bought my evo7 import for $35k... 280hp and 282tq... that stock... and does 0-60 in 4.4s - 4.6s... i put about $2k into it with the two HKS parts and put out about 300hp now and it pushed the car to doing 0-60 in 4s flat... (i have the rs2 model)... oh, and stock... the evo7 does the 700ft slalom at 70.9mph... and the 1/4mile in 12.9s... so for $37k... theres a car that would kick the **** out of that focus... $65k for that?! psh

you also have to remember that the evo8 'is' worse than the evo7 in handling and speed... the evo7 is a little more than 300lbs lighter (big difference)... and slightly more powerful stock (about 9 more hp and tq)... and although ive never researched track times and results for the evo7 vs evo8... the slalom speed says a lot... 70.9 (evo7) compared to 68.9 (evo8)... and if you think about the price differences... about $32k for an evo8... get an import evo7 for $35k... it comes street legal and everything... and it also comes with a tuned motec m48 ecu... thats about $2k+ alone...

but then again this is a honda forum...

dont put that engine in a civic... and that engine sounds awful in my opinion... a nice sounding engine is a corvette engine... the ls1... all stock with all the resonators and stuff... its nice and quiet but when you step on it it just has this nice roar...

anyway... i like the sound of honda engines anyway... just dont make them super loud with exhausts and stuff... put on a cold air intake and the engine is much louder and sounds really deep and nice... and just get a nice exhaust with a silencer...

I LOVE the sound of my c5 swap with the Apex'i world sport exhaust. To me, it sounds better than any of the v8 mustangs on this island...

The 560 hp monte carlo that the guy who painted my car has however...
