i'd say it's a faulty flux capacitor

hey, can you give us more details about your problem. Like when it usually happens and stuff like that. I got a 92' Accord and for the longest time it would not start on hot days or after I was done pumping gas. Usually when I go run errands and turn the car off and on a lot. Anyways, if this is the same problem that I think it is, then it's your main relay. The main relay is located underneath the steering wheel. It's a little black cube looking box. The problem with this is that the 1) the box lacks ventilation and 2) the soldering spots on the microchip board is cracking. These two things makes for an intermittment problem with starting the car. You can either buy a new main relay or open up the box and resolder the bad solder spots. Also drill some ventilation holes in the box. My car has never failed to start ever since I fixed the main relay. I think a search on main relay will get you started in the right direction. Good luck.

I'm going through the identical thing and it's very frustrating! Look at my thread. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=914965 let me know if you find anything out and I'll do the same.

Guys, have any of you done a search on the topic? I have posted the fix to this problem many times. this is one of the most common Accord problems.

It is the MAIN RELAY.

it's true that the main relay is the culprit to many starting problems, but how in the world are we supposed to help diagnose a problem when the only information given is "sometimes it just won't start?"

if you're going to ask for assistance, you're going to have to give us more information than that.

what about when it starts and you put your foot on the gas it stalls for a second then revs? I changed my main relay yesterday and it wasn't the fix for it.

Check your plugs and plug wires they might be worn. If they appear to be alright, then check the coil, it might be weak.
Buy a cheap spark tester from one of the auto parts and hook it up. The coil should fire even when you open the gap up to 1/2" on the spark tester. If it doesn't, the coil is weak.

Folks,

A good possibility is the MAIN RELAY so astutely pointed out above. I have a '93 and I had the same issues and could've figure for the life of me...I took it to the garage and they replace almost everything they could think of..ending up costing me ~$600...and still couldn't figure it out. So I ran across one of the honda forums and honda tech pointed the MAIN RELAY out and problem was fix once I replaced it.

I have had this problem too. But it wasn't in the main relay. It was the igniton module in the distributor over heating. This lead to also frying the coil. I had to replace them both and then it worked fine. But, check them out first as they are both about $100 each, in my neck of the woods. No a cheap thing to just throw parts at with.

My honda accord does the same thing. sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesnt.
When it does start I have power to my windows and dash lites, head and tail lites and cd, radio. When it does not start, I only have power to my radio, cd and head n tail lites. So when my dash lites are working, I know the car will start. Ive replaced the ignition and key set and presently going to change the wiring harness that plugs into the back of the ignition tommorrow. When i slowly turn the ket from accessory to start...the dash lites will flicker on but not stay on, thats why i think its electrical and not the relay. But in your case they are right. We need more info to determine what you have done or checked to help you solve your problem.
The following part is edited: I found out my problem. It was my alarm. It hooked up into the ignition harness and when I put the new one in I left the alarm unhooked from it and......there you go, starts every time. You didnt say if you had an alarm, if you do check that first for your no starts..
