Default smaller tach and speedometer...

i did a search on here and google to no avail. im looking for a smaller tach and speedometer so i can install more gauges into the stock cluster. id like to keep everything looking as much as stock as possible. only thing i have found are motorcycle gauges, but i don't think those will work. i hope im wrong...but does anyone know if they'll work or better yet if there is a gauge that is smaller than 3 1/2 inches for a honda (autometer has one that is 3 1/2...guess its same as stock...havn't measured). thanks!

if you want close to stock, either stick with stock or get a sir cluster... theyll all practically read the same anyway... just a higher rpm and mph if im not wrong?

well im wanting to add in a boost/oil pressure gauge, and maybe a fuel pressure gauge. i want the gauge cluster to look stock and flow with the car. i dont want an a-pillar or have gauges sticking out of every crevace of my interrior. what *i* really want to do is modify the cluster to include all the gauges.

good luck on that. the whole cluster is designed as a unit, to be able to modify it and not lose fucntionality of it could be quite the pain in the ***.

indeed, but i have time! im the proud new owner of a second f22b2 so ill be spending the next few weeks pulling it apart and cleaning. ive decided on pistons and rods, but i may just go ahead and do a resleeve so as not to have to pull it apart again (also depending on the condition of the cylinders when i pull the head tomorrow). aiming for a fully built engine by spring or late winter being optimistic.

You could get a spare cluster, then fab in a complete new setup using autometer gauges. Just a thought.

i dont really want to make a pod...or take out my heater *****. im a bastard..i know.

riceburner:
thats what i plan on doing....atleast i think we're on the same page. i wanted to buy a spare cluster and create a new...."background" (whatever you call it) and position ALL of my needed gauges in the stock cluster. the only problem is finding a small enough tach/speedometer. i would more or less reposition everything since i would be going through the trouble, but if i can't find a tach/speed that will work then its pointless. thats why i was hoping there would be a way to rig up a motorcycle tach/speedometer, but i dont see that happening....so i guess ill have to think about doing it some other way.

back ground made out of 18 gauge sheet metal.
