Default h22 swap

i got the fcuked up f20a dohc engine in my 94 accord coupe rite now with the prelude si tranny.. wat would be the downsides to bolting it up to the h22? longer gears.. but wat else? just make it over all alot slower then the h22 is supposed to be?

the prelude si tranny (h23 tranny) isn't bad with the h22...the gears are slightly longer than the h22 gears, but you will stay in vtec with each shift and it's not anything as long as the f22 gears...it shouldn't be that much different than an h22 bolted to an h22 tranny...

as nick says, if you look at the ratios, they are very similar to the h22, the f22 is way long. its a good combo. slightly better gas mileage, just slightly. it will not be alot slower than an h duece tranny

seriously if you got a h23 tranny keep it.. not worth upgrading to the h22a IMO i have driven both on a regular day! nad have raced both a h22a w/ an h22a tranny and a h22a w/ an h23 tranny.. same **** man.. but yes if you wanna get tech the h22a has shorter gear ratio's. i would only swap out for a h22a LSD now ur talking
