Boost/Fuel Pump questions
Question 1: I just got a Walbro 255lph fuel pump but it didn't come with any instructions on installation. How hard is it to install (in an 89 crx si)? I put a b16 in myself so I was pretty confident I can figure this out. Just wanted a few opinions before I tried.
Question 2: I have (like i said) a b16 in an 89 crx si with place racing front crossmember, 92+ radiator, and bought a turbo kit from a friend who had it on a 99 si. It's a kit he put together, turbonetics t3/t04e I believe on an inlinepro stainless manifold, vortech fmu, yada yada... I was told the only thing I would need to modify for it to fit would be the intercooler piping. Has anyone used on of these kits on a crx? If so how hard is it going to be to modify that piping?
Question 3: Now what all should I do before I boost? I got the fuel pump, a vafc 2, and was told to do a headgasket. I plan on running a koyo aluminum 92+ radiator also. How important is it to do the headgasket? I only wanna run 7-8 psi so I'm not 100% sure that it's necessary.
Thanks in advanced and any more opinions are greatly appreciated.

Q 1. Search for archives 'Fuel pump install' For the CRX /EF Civic Forum.
Here I helped ... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=623316
Q 2. Modifying pipes is not bad. Take your time. Get a saw or find somebody that has a shop. Be patient.
Q 3. Before you boost you should save your money and get a stand alone. Sell the vafc2. Get a shop to check your leakdown and compression. Be patient. Get a standalone. Trust me. Be patient.
I say be patient becasue I have rushed into turbo and I regret it now, sort of. I have not driven my CRX for just over a year after I blew my 3rd motor. I was not patient.
Good Luck

1. The fuel pump should just drop in, but be sure to up grade your stock fuel pump wiring because the stock wires really cut down on the power delivery to the pump. I have herd of people popping a alt. fuse when they install a bigger fuel pump, supposedly the remedy is running a bigger amp fuse. Dont take my word, cause this is just what I read and herd about.
2. The only way your going to know if the intercooler piping is going to need modifycation is if you try to install it. It most likely will. Everything else SHOULD fit in threoy since its a B series, but ya know how that goes. Just start installing stuff and see what you come across and modify it to make it work. The downpipe may need some modifycation to fit.
3. I would ditch the FMU and get a VAFC and some DSM 450cc injectors and run the hack with your fuel pump. You dont need to replace the HG, but you can if it makes you feel better. Then get it tuned! Make sure you have all the gauges your need oil press, boost ect...
Good Luck

Standalone = Hondata, Uberdata, AEM EMS =
you won't need an AFC controller module.. Uberdata is by far the cheapest, but also easiest to messup if you're not sure what you're doing. be patient.
Check your compression first, then replace hg and test compression again. I would recommend a slightly thicker hg just to be on the safe side.
piping, just test fit everything.. like the other guy said, the dp might need some mod too.. have fun, and good luck. post some pictures when you're done.
