problems with ball joint
so im driving last night and the castle nut came off where the loewr balljoint connects to my control arm,,,
my question is to put this back on do i need to take my axle out? or is there anyway i can just push the balljoint up and then thread the nut on there

im confused too, anyone have a diagram of it?
bsically my suspenion Dropped hard on the ground last night,and i jacked up the car and took the wheel off and the balljoint was not connected to the control arm.

if its your lower ball joint... the one with the castle nut that should have a cotter pin :sp? anyone: you should not have to drop the axel to place it back up. if yours backed itself out and there was no pin that would be why the nut dropped.
i usually use a jack to push the lower control arm up and hold the piece there while i try to get the castle nut to re thread.
search for a diagram...

yea thats the problem theg uy that put my suspension back together didn't put cotter pins in, im gonna go over all my suspension tomorrow and put cotter pins in, only in the front right, any that need to go in the rear?
