Default Loud thump from front due to coilovers?

I just recently purchased a 96 accord with apex coilovers. The fron tires are barely tucking, they are 225/40/18, and whenever i go over a bump there is a loud thump noise coming from the front, on the side that i hit of course. Just want to know what can cause such a noise and is it a common thing.

It could be that the springs are getting caught on the edge of the top hat and popping back into place...

If you hadn't noticed he didn't give a very descriptive explaintion of what was making the noise. So I'm sorry if I offended you with my post
