Default exhaust size piping. And Injector sizing.

Will I feel a big difference in spool up time and power If I switch to a 3inch exhaust. Im only runnin 7psi. Also I can get dsm 450s for free. Will it be ok to run them on 7psi? Or is it so much overkill the car would be slower. Thanks

I have 2.5 now. So you would recommend it? I was going to a turbo apexi n1 Muffler and get a 3inch piping. Also does anyone have any input on the injectors? Thanks

On a Turbo setup, the exhaust system is Very important. The larger the piping the better it will flow and the more power you'll free up.

As for injectors, which ones are you running? Stock injectors?

The question is what kind of motor do you have? As far as an exhaust system goes, piping size is critical with issues of back pressure. In my 94 cx hatch, I have a sohc vtec, soon to be boosted. My exhaust piping is going to be 2.5" and I have dsm 450's.

I have the d15b2 with a mpfi conversion. Its in a 89 civic hatch dx. All I want is to run 7psi. I was thinking of trading the 450's and just get 370 dsm's. Thanks for your imput So I still dont know about the exhaust though.

I was always under the impression that you dont want back pressure on a turbo car.

Correct. That's why he said: "piping size is critical with issues of back pressure" issues as in. bad thing

2.5" will do fine on a d15 with only 7 psi.

3" would be better but you gotta question at that horsepower level is the additional cost and noise really worth it.

isnt there an exhaust gas velocity you want to keep? Going to large an exhaust for to little boost can compromise performance too.

took the words out of my mouth

2.5 is enough even for my 2.3L at 8-10 psi

notice i have apexi RS(zero mufflering material) with no resonator
