Default CRX trunk leaking at strut I searched one question still?

Is the black piece that is on top of the hatch where the 2 bolts are is that called the rain guard? I read a post they put some sorta chaulk or something in the rain guard? But there are no pictures and i dont know what the rain guard is. Its leaking right on the passenger side strut where it mounts to the body from the hatch.

right there right? mine does it too!

possible causes:
1. Rear washer nozzle leaking where it connects to body
2. Rain drip rails. basically these run from the windshield to the trunk glass along the roof. 1 on each side of the car about 3" from the side. black rubber seal. UNder that is where they leak usually. check around the area near the rear.

I also have a leak on the same spot, but the only thing I can narrow it down to is the rear hatch seal. It hasn't done it in a while, but I used to have ot keep a little towel back there, because in heavy rain, it'd leak badly. It sucks!

I had the same leak.....

Found out it was from the lil rubber "hose" that runs to the hatch... the thing that the wires for the 3rd light run through. It had popped out of the hatch.

Its right at the top of the hatch on the pass side.

I had a CRX that had a different source for the leak that you are mentioning. I had a pinhole leak up in the upper passenger's side corner of the rear hatch opening. It is an area where different parts of the sheet metal come together and are sealed underneath the paint. I did a bunch of isolation leak tests and finally found it. It was nearly impossible to see until I scrutinized it up close. It was a hole in the paint no bigger than the pointy end of a pin.

both my hatch shocks leak from the bolts. No sunroof, no rear wiper, no squirter, hatch seal is fine, and new rain guters on the roof. So where is my leak coming from?

some people say its hairline cracks in the weld that's done in the factory where the roof meets the pillars and other sides.

Good info, anyone else fixed this problem and found answers??

My rust bucket does the same **** and it pisses me off so I have to cover the top of the car in plastic so it does not leak.

I can almost guarantee it's the rear wiper nozzle that's leaking.

Put a small drop of silicone free window kit (glue) under there. Silicone eats paint. Remember that.

the ONLY common part between HF/DX/Si is the rain gutters and the body parts. it must be from one of these parts.

Rain gutters getting clogged is also a very common issue, and a biatch to clean out.

I lifted the gutter thing up and caulked under it but that didnt fix my problem.
