Default gsr exhaust on ls with gsr cat and jdm header 4 1??

hey guys, I have a few questions that I wanted to get answered before I actually go through with the route that I'm doing with my exhaust setup for my 99 ls. I just actually bought a apexi rs cat back exhaust and i want to put this on my ls. Problem is and I already know about it is that it won't fit due to the gsr years from 94-99 had a shorter cat. I know I have the option of just going to a muffler shop and just actually having them just cut my b-pipe and re welding it to fit correctly, but I'd rather not cut anything and just make it fit correctly. I do not want an aftermarket cat and just want an oem setup with aftermarket exhaust and possibly jdm headers 4 1 for my car.

I heard that I can actually get an oem gsr cat with gsr headers and everything should fit correctly. If so is this true?

Secondly I would like to know if I could possibly get ITR jdm 4 1 headers and match it up with a GSR oem cat? or if I could just get a JDM DC sports header and match it up with a GSR oem cat?

Lastly, I know this is long sorry, would any oem gsr cat from years 94-99 work on my 99 ls? I don't know if odb I or II have an effect on how the car works on this.

Sorry for the long and annoying post. I did my best to do research on everything I needed answered. Thank you for your time.

joe

I don't know what type of gains you're expecting from bolting up the GSR header/cat to your ls motor, but I'd suggest going with the jdm header --> aftermarket cat --> whatever exhaust you want. Whichever route you chose, you're most likely gonna need welding.

ya, the gsr cat wont bolt onto the jdm 4-1 header unless you weld on a new flanges...in which you might as well get a high flow cat. also, the 00-01 gsr cat/exhaust would be the one that matches upto your car

i don't want to have the hassle of having a check engine light come on or having any type of problems with emissions. As far as power gains I'm definately looking for a nice increase in power.

I'm only getting an oem gs-r cat because of the exhaust I purchased. I purchased an exhaust that fits only from gsr years 94-99. Those years had a shorter cat for some reason.

As far as the jdm header 4-1 setup, what exactly would i need to do to make it fit? Is the JDM header longer? Which type of cat (OEM, aftermarket) would I need to make it fit correctly?
