Sway bar width
I've searched a many n found lil to no info on the width of popular front n rear aftermarket sway bars. I know the fronts are usually thicker at 28mm n rears are close to 17mm like the ones eibach sells, but anybody else have info on the competition? Another q is bigger always better on rear as i know the tl-s rear sway bar is one fat puppy! Will dat create significantly more oversteer if the rear is fatter? I own a 99 accord lx n hope to find me a tl-s in a jarkyard near u
it's the the width of the bar, if the width is 27mm, i think my car would be 2inch by 4 inch.
it's the diameter of the tube itself.
sorry i dont have the comparsion but just to say the least, bigger isnt always better.
tls/cls rear sway is pretty popular among 98-02 accord people, it's cheap and it works.
by putting stiffer bar in the rear, you are adding oversteer to your understeer fwd accord(designed that way). i perfer little understeer but bench racing is pretty gay so bring both bar to the track and test it out yourself. I am not kidding you, saw some dude at spring of willow swapping rear swap bar during runs. hot day+hot car+awd drive train and you trying putt the bar off with a wimpy jack
sway bar itself is very noticeable(being one single mod) but if you want some more oversteer you can.
1)more psi on front tires, less in the rear
2)stiffer rear spring/damper rate
3)stiffer rear sway(some racer even disconnect the front bar)
4)more downforce in front
5)wider tires in front(even tho' it looks really really stupid)
