Default Stock tires are done,Camber problems????

I went to have my tires rotated and I was told I didn't need a rotation, I needed four new tires an allignment and a camber correction kit. They told me I needed the camber kit before they could do an allignment. My car was lowered on comptech sport springs so the drop is only about 1/2 an inch if that. Does this sound right? I have 15k on stock tires the tread looks OK, but I was told the rear tires are pitted from camber lean. I am thinking about getting Nitto. Any thoughts....

I installed the Mugen Sport Lowdown kit on my car, ~3/4" drop. When I went to get an alignment after the change the service guy told me I need new tires. The front inners were worn to the treads. All this occured BEFORE the suspension mods. The ITR has a little more negitive camber than the other Integra's. Your problem could just have been a bad alignment that coused the tire wear. I got over 30k miles on my first set of tires. You don't need a camber kit. Go to another shop and have them show you how much the alignment is off. If it is WAY off from factory specs then get the kit, but I cannot imagine it is that far off with the 1/2" drop. When I finally got my alignment, no camber kit, the front passenger seemed to settle more as the camber on that side is more neg. than the other. The drivers side is "within" specs for the car and so are the rears. You mechanic should be showing you all of this. Good luck.

I also have the Mugen Lowdown set up on my R....My front and rear drivers side are within factory specs (barely), but my passenger side front and rear are out a little bit. I'm doing camber kits mainly so when I go to race my car I can adjust my camber as necessary for track conditions. If you dont want to get camber kits just make sure that your toe is aligned properly, since too much toe will also lead to premature tire wear.

Pitted? Perhaps you mean "chunked" - like little pieces (chunks) of tire are missing. I wouldn't replace the tires just because they're chunked, unless (a) the belts are showing through the chunks - unlikely - or (b) the treadwear indicator bars are flat across.

I have looked the tires and can't really see any problem. I don't think they are chunked. What tires should I get?????

Don't get any tires. Go to a shop which is used to seeing track cars, not cars for ninnies.

I run my street tires just about down to cord before I get rid of them. That or after I scare myself or someone else a few times in the rain.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who does this.
