Axle-Back Pipe? Custom Exhaust Questions...
Hey guys:
About a month ago I figured that I would save a little money and build a custom exhaust to replace the one that was so rusted out it came off in three pieces. Unbolted.
Anywho, I got a hold of a new cat, a midpipe from Ractive (Street Beat Customs, great guys
) and a fireball style muffler from eBay...I know...
What I need to know is what is the normal way to mount this type of exhaust on a CRX. Its an 88 DX, and basically I have a pipe that stops right before the left rear tire/axle and a fireball straight-thru muffler. I can fabricate a pipe if need be...I guess.
BTW: Do all CRX's with this type of muffler have it mounted kinda crooked? Like a 45 degree angle out? Just wondering, saw a couple like that.
Thanks,
Frank

it all depends on the lenght of the muffler to see how angled it will be. i had one like a fireball and it was slightly crocked, not that much.
What I would like to find is a way to get a hold of the piping from the axle back for cheap. I saw on another thread that you can get it done at places like midas. I don't mind clamping it on, it's the custom bent pipe that I need to get a hold of.
