Default Oil Attention Light

Whenever I start my car either after it has been running for a little while or its cold the oil light always comes on! I think its a malfunction in the sensor because i check the oil every week and theres always plenty in it, does anyone have any remedys or suggestions on what to do, all i want to to is not see a flashing oil light but still have the circuit in place so i can be alerted if there is not enough oil!

The light is for oil pressure. I would recommend attaching a manual oil pressure gauge to where the oil pressure sensor is now a confirm you have oil pressure within spec. If oil pressure is ok the replace the sensor.

oem oil light=when you are about empty on oil

Its mainly for looks and doesn't really serve much of a purpose . IMO a aftermarket oil pressure gauge will do more than ok

The sensor is right below your intake manifold. It is directly above your oil filter.

I would buy a T-fitting, and screw the aftermarket gauge sender in one port, and the OE sender in the other, but I seem to remember someone saying that this was not a good idea on these cars for some reason. I can't remember why. Maybe whoever wrote that will offer another suggestion.

As was mentioned above, the light comes on when your oil pressure is low, so be careful driving around when the light is on. You might end up burning up a bearing if the pressure really is low.

I dont think that its too low, the car isnt burning any oil or anything like that, i talked to one of my friends and he suggested to get the oil pump looked at, so thats the next step for now.
