has anyone taken apart a JDM integra headlight?
Well, I finally got the headlight off my car, now I need to figure out how to take the thing apart. I am cleaning it up (getting dirt, etc. out of the housing) and also installing 2 strobe lights. There is very limited room to install the strobes w/out taking the housing apart. I can put one in the outside corner no problem, and the other one will either go in place of the fog bulb (inner part of headlight) or in the same section as the high beam. Either way, I need to take the entire headlight assembly apart to be able to cut the hole. Any suggestions? I have already removed the clips, but not sure what to do next. I don't want to f*ck anything up as they are JDM and worth $$$.
uhm. drilling into it = ******* it up.
but if you want to strobe it out, (
) then be sure to drill the holes on the bottom portion of the headlights, and a breather hole in the rear of the headlight (where the sockets for the bulbs are). thats to keep condensation to a minimum.

by drilling a hole I mean a 1" hole to fit a strobe light bulb. i know i am kind of ******* up the bulbs, but I don't really care. you won't be able to notice the difference from the outside (easily at least) and I want to attract as much attention as possible at the HIN show on the 17th. do you know how to replace the fog light bulb (inner corner of lens)?
because it's regarding integra type r headlights, and most people that would know about that would be in this forum, not some general appearance forum
but it has nothing to do w/ the strobes themselves. i need to know how to take apart the jdm integra headlight housing/assembly.

You don't.
They're sealed to prevent moisture from getting inside and forming condensation.
You can try putting them in the oven at low temp to soften the adhesive the holds the lens to the housing and then pry it open, but then you'll have to seal it again with some clear silicone.

You can't take apart the housing, so if ur trying to get inside u can forget about it
the clear casing in the front is made into the plastic casing on the back. I have 2 sets of JDM headlights and a extra right one lol so i would know.
Peace.

great. i got one of the holes drilled in the outside corner part of the housing, but now there's a lot of small plastic dust particles floating around inside the housing. i wanted to take of the front clear lens to clean all that crap out. how am i going to do that now? maybe a can of compressed air and a vacuum cleaner?

As soon as ur done u better seal back that hole unless its gonna get real foggy, and i have no idea how you're gonna clean it out but i have a feeling u will(i kno ur determined when u start drilling holes in ur headlights) lol, if u do get um clean, tell us as soon as u do and how u did it.

Put them in the oven as I explained in the other post. It shouldn't be any different than when I did my bi-xenon retrofit. I did not use any extra sealant when putting them back together, I just heated them up again and pushed the halves back together. No condensation whatsoever in 4+ months, and my projectors even have a hole in the back where the bulb goes in, straight into the inside of the headlight, and still no condensation problems.
