Default Need Help.....

1990 CRX Si B16a1/S1/PWO

Fluctuating idle between 300-1000 rpm

Sometimes stalls at idle

Tach has begun to bounce a little when revving (barely)

Idle adjust screw all the way in = worst idle

Idle adjust screw 1 full turn out = a little better idle

Vacuum lines are correct

Slight hesitation when you barely touch the throttle

When driving, runs great

No codes

VTEC kicks in as it should

New cap, rotor, plugs, wires

Cannot accurately check timing while idle is fluctuating (timing marks move back and forth)

Hard to tell, but it almost sounds like it misses or backfires a little

Can you guys give me a hand with this? Or if anyone is from San Antonio/Austin I would be willing to come to you (and buy the beer ) if you could help me out.

could be your tps(throttle possesion) sensor, or iacv(idle air control valve). unplug the iacv and see if its still doin the problem, if it goes away its probly no good or has to be cleaned. iv picked one up on ebay for 10 bucks shipped

hope that helps

Had same problem with swap did recently make sure to check wiring and make sure that it is in the correct position most honda connections are the same style plug. also check the TPS and MAP sensors you could still have a bad map and not have a check engine light. Any honda MAP sensor will work off of 95 and older civics/crx ect. TPS should also work off of "d" or "b" series engines same yaers make sure it is not clocked wrong. Good luck let me know if it works or not I still have more ideas.

MAP good, TPS set, wiring 100%, vacuum 100%. Found out that my timing is 30 degrees above TDC.... I don't understand why it runs so damn good if that is the case....
