Default b16 overheats after i get on it??

yah i just put a b16 in my car 2 days ago... it runs awesome. anyways today it was hot as crap here in va beach but i had my fan on (switch) and everthing. ive been driving it for the past 2 days with no overheating. today after dropping my girl off i get on it and my throttle cable popped off (lol) but when that happened i noticed my temp rising. im just trying to get opinions because it only does it after i romp on it. im gonna check the radiator, check (change) the thermostat and see what it does. but im just trying to see if anyone else has had this problem... timing belt and water pump were replaced b4 i put the motor in. anyways just trying to get some input.

dan

sorry for the long post but i searched it and noone had a similar problem

Does your fan turn on? Have you checked the coolant? Changed the thermostat?

Check for a blown headgasket. That could possibly be it.

i have seen this same thing happening to other people on this board..not sure what it is exactly, but maybe you will fix it after those couple things your going to do.only other things i can think of is air in the system, leaks somewhere or bad headgasket..maybe try adding some redline ww or something...let us know what works

mine did the same thing at first..I changed the sensor below the vtec solenoid (temp sensor) and it has not happened again. I think there is one above or below the oil filter also..You can use both off your old d16a6 if you have it
