Brake lite is on
I got 00civic EX with 35000 miles on it. One day I was driving and brake light came on. It stays on and when I hit brake it goes for while and than comes on again. My car takes long time to stop too. It is not making any noise so I don't think its my brake pads.
Can some one help me out here.

check your brake fluid. If its low in the reservoir then the brake light will come on to tell you that your brake pads are on the way out, thus the low fluid level.
Pads/disk ware down takes more fuild to push them all the way in. If you repalce the pads then less travel means higher fluid level. 98ctr

Well if the parking brake/low fluid indicator light is what he was talking about, then if the brake fluid level is fine, go check the switch on the handbrake. You will have to remove the boot to reach it and adjust it or check if the switch is grounded.
