Default my jdm engine blown? =(

ok.. here's the story.. im at work ( delivering chinese food) HAHA not funny.. im crossing i-35 intersection goin onto MLK st. and i hear pop.. car engine dies.. roll to a stop at the sidewalk.... i try cranking it a few times...it give me a little put..put..put.. and dies again.. i give it some more.. nothing i get out
check the engine for lose ignition wires.. or broken hoses and the belts.. everythings fine.. except the msd wire from the blaster II coil was thrown off the distributer.. i was thinkgin that was that poping sound? so then i take a screw driver stick it in that wire put it on the valve cover to see if i got a spark..i have my buddy crank it.. no spark.. am i doin it wrong or somthing.. i dont think so? its a jdm f20a dohc non-vtec.. is it time for the H22? / anyone have a blown motor? wat does it sound like when u try to crank it over? gawd this cars gettin on my nerves..

It doesnt sound liek a blown engine. Sounds more like an electrical problem. Make sure your plug/plugwires are good, alternator, coil, etc.. are all functioning on it. Also the cap/rotor/etc..

when i blew up my old h22a, it sounded like KABOOOM! KaCLunk KaCLunk Pop Pop Pop Pop Pop, KaChunk! (this is where i need to add that blue smoke, oil, started pouring out from under my hood) and the car made some other Chunk Chunk noises.

I highly doubt you blew your motor

no spark does not equal blown motor. it does not sound like a blown motor. if you saw smoke or smelled something i would worry, but you didnt right

I think ur Blaster coil screwed you. I have a 92 accord lx with the ole f22 and decided to put the blaster coil SS in place for my stock coil. Everything was fine, for about a week. A mustang gt(86-93) comes up next to me and is revving so i thought o well what if i get my *** handed to me. SO we take off form like a 55 roll , shift to third, probably get to about 5500 rpm and the engine shuts off...first thing i thought is i had thrown a rod. Im getting no spark at all. Long story short i check the blaster coil for resistance and its good. the stock coil i belives is suppose to be 18000-22000 ohms and the blaster coil read 44,000 ohms. Checked everything and still no spark so im stumped. the igniter tests good. Ended up getting a different dizzy, started up first crank. I'd get a diff. dizzy first.

Oh yea Also I'd put ur stock coil back on. I ditched my MSD Blaster SS coil and its for sale as we speak...15 dollars...haha. Its still good tho.

So its getting Fuel? Just no spark? If so, first thing i would do is put the stock coil back on, try it, and if that doesnt do the job, id say new dizzy.

Is it an internal coil(inside the distributer, and u got an MSD cap to go with the MSD blaster coil) or is it an external coil(outside the dizzy)?

hopefully when the wire was knocked off of the dizzy u didnt jump a tooth... thats what happened to my buddy's h22 prelude.. the distributor siezed up and the motor jumped an exhaust tooth.. and there is most likely about 4-6 exhaust valves bent or broken.. it did the same thing as ur talking about.. we check for spark and yada yada.. changed to external coil.. nothing.. changed distibutor.. and still only turned over.. but wouldnt start.. did a compression test.. and it wasnt building anymore compression.. motor is fucked unless he did a whole new valve train.. so instead he bought a new motor.. hopefully thats not what happened to you.. cuz it seems VERY VERY similar

no, if they are black, that means you are getting too much fuel...the black is carbon deposits...

no sir...notice when you are running too rich, that black smoke exits the exhaust and covers your exhaust with the black suit, otherwise known as carbon deposits...this is a sure sign of a rich a/f mixture...most likely, your 02 sensor sees the extra air going through the engine (due to ease of air flow you have created) and corrects itself by adding more fuel...

you need a prelude driveside mount that is ground down a little bit...the wiring harness was the oem accord harness with the prelude pieces and parts added in...i had to add vtec pressure, vtec selenoid, and knock sensor i believe...oh, if you were asking if the h22 will bolt to the h23 tranny, the answer is yes...
