How to change rotors on 96 civic coupe??????
Just got some new rotors from honda! If anyone knows of a walkthrough or guide that would help me out when installing them, that would be great!
Step 1: Take off yer wheel
Step 2: Pop off the calipers... there is a bolt at the top and bottom of the caliper on the side opposite you, undo those and they should come off with a little force.
Step 3: Pull off old rotors.
Step 4: Clean (if you want) new rotors with some break clean and pop them on.
Step 5: Swap out your brake pads (optional i just always do the two at the same time... lifetime warranty pads
)
Step 6: You will probably have to compress the caliper a bit with a vice to fit it onto the rotor. No big deal.
Step 7: Reattach the caliper. Bolt it back up.
Step 8: Put wheels back on.
Step 9 CRITICAL TO YOUR SAFETY AND ANYONE ELSES ON THE STREET: Before you go barreling down the street, pump your brakes untill you start to feel pressure. At first you won't, but after 5 seconds of pumping the brake pedal you'll be good to go. If you were to go right out onto the road.... no brakes = no good

I've done this, and I got a helms manual. Email me if you want torque specs on all bolts. WHen you take off the caliper, use a hangar to hold it somewhere in the wheelwell, so there is no strain on the rubber brake fluid hose. Be sure to clean the rotors surface, as they have a coating on them, you need brake cleaner, soap dont work. Simple green may work though, hehe. EMail me if you want a total walkthrough, im tired of typing for now.
to take off the old rotor you need to do battle with the two rotor screws that hold it on as well. those bastards are a beotch to get off. i used an impact hammer tool - the one where you put the screw driver bit on it and smack it with a hammer. good luck.
