hey, my car popped outta 5th gear last night. we werent going over 3-4 rpms. anyone know why this might have happened? the tranny is new. we thought the linkage may just need to be tightened since that was the first time it was actually driven. what do you guys think?

 

If it was the first time it was ever driven I would be bringing it back to the honda dealership and have their warranty mechanic take a look at it.....

 

actually we just finished a b16 swap in to my delsol, so its not under warrenty or anything. last night was the first time it was driven since the swap. like i said the tranny and the synchros should be good and new. do you think the linkage may just needta be tightened? or what?

 

I think it has to do with the syncros of the tranny.

 

either your syncro is not in good shape or u didnt go in gear all the way.

 

DOn't worry about it unless it happens more than once.....


One time my tranny grinded into 3rd....doesn't mean the tranny's bad.....it was my fault

haha yeah ive grinded a few gears before....not the nicest sound in the world - makes your heart shatter
