i have a tranny prob.
ok so i bought this eg hatch with a b16 swap, the tranny was working just fine for two days. Then thats when it happend the 5th gear pop out. so that suck for me for about two weeks. then i got a new tranny to replace the old one. that tranny work ok for about three weeks then it happpen 5th came out like crazy. and i know i did a good job swaping the tranny.

wish you the best of luck with that could always take it to a tranny shop to tar it apart and just check everything to make sure everything is good

shift linkage issue? Sounds like your not getting the car all the way in gear. I doubt you'd have two different trannys have the same problem.

If it wasn't all the way in gear it would grind once the clutch was released. I'm inclined to say that it was just bad luck and you got 2 bad trans back to back.

that happened on my d-series tranny 3rd and 5th wouldnt stay in place and would pop out. could be your fork... i swapped trannys and my prob was solved..

One of the first signs of LOW TRANSMISSION FLUID in a b-series transmission is the gearshift popping out of gear, especially in fifth.
