CRX Project!!
Hey,
Im so stoked right now, I thought that I would share. A buddy of mine and myself just bought a 1989 CRX HF completely stripped except for a racing seat, steering column, stock suspension and wheels. This thing even has lexon windows. We got it for $400, we have a K20A2 that we are going to custom fabricate into it. Im talking solid motor mounts, the whole 9 yards. Im so excited!
We will for sure keep everyone posted on how things progress, and take lots of pictures.

Thanks guys for the props. Im very excited about starting.
I already had the K20A2 from my other car. I had it in a 2001 Civic coupe, then a drunk rear ended me and totalled that car. So then I had my motor just laying around, no one wanted to buy it, so might as well.
The expensive part is going to be a Quaiffe LSD, tires, maybe a Hondata. Pretty much everything else is going to be fabricated. Im wanting to do a ram intake system through the headlight holes, and build a custom header that routes two of the four pipes out each fender. Like out near the windshield, and point upwards. Its going to be pissed off when it runs!
I was wondering what you guys think the car is going to weigh. The car stock I know comes in at little under 1900 lbs according to autotrader.com. Its completely stripped except for a steering column, and racing seat on the inside. All the windows are lexon. What do you think it will weight with a motor in it that weighs the same as a B16, keeping the interior basically how it is now with a few added things, etc.

thanks again guys for the support. Yea, its going to be quite the project for sure. I will make sure not to do anything major without my digi cam around.
Sorry to say, but starting a project with your friend isnt the greastest idea. Your going to have different opinions on whats gonna go on the car and how much money you want/have to spend.
What if buddy blows the motor, its your motor is it not?
What if you want to move away? You gonna hand him 1/2 the car?
I dunno, I just see it as the same ball park as lending money to family

Its not that bad. Maybe him and his friend are close buds and they wont argue over the car. Maybe his friend will stop mouching off of his engine. lol

normally those would be things to worry about. But what we are going to do is even before we start the project, we are going to talk about what is going to happen to the car. We are going to agree on how things are going to unfold before we start. About moving away...we are both starting school up in a new town, which just so happens to be where the car is going to be. So, I have atleast two years there, and he has atleast 3 years there. So no one is moving any time soon. The money issue we will deal with at the time. But, this isnt going to be a project that is only going to take a month or so. I dont even see this project getting done before the new year. We are doing everything 50/50, so if one person is low on money, we will just wait.
