Default got a problem speedometer drive sqeaking?

hey guys what up, okay well i just bought my crx and i was test driving it when it starts sqeaking louder then faster i go, i was like damn so i asked the guy who sold it to me and he said it was the speedometer drive and i had to lube it up, does anyone know what kind of lube, is this the problem and how do i go about doing this thanks

Is it squeaking inside the car? If it is you should use any kind of grease/oil put it inside where the cable goes. That should quiet it down.

Take out the cluster unplug the speedo cable from the back of the speedometer pull the actual cable out of the shroud/housing if you have grease put it on this cable or soak it with some oil prolly the thicker the better. Also try putting some in the hole where the metal clip is.

Most of the time once they start to Sqeak they dont last very long. Even if you lube them back up They almost always brake. Just get a New one there like 20 dollors and its an easy fix. Takes like 10 mins to install.
