Wondering if this is too much slack on the throttle cable?

According to service manuals the "deflection" can be 10-12mm. what is that?? is it the distance between the ccontrol cable like the pic below?

Why don't you simply cut down on the slack? What prevents you from doing that?

In the long run, I guess the cruise control is convenient.

 

Wondering what effect would it be to have a loose throttle cable?

You'd have to push the gas pedal farther before you accelerate, since the first bit of movement only gets the cable taught, then additional movement actually opens the throttle.

 

you should tighten it. it does have a lil too much slack
