Default Dynoed My Car!

Hey all,
I got two runs on the dyno yesterday.
First was 161, second was 160. Not too bad right? I was told it was on the weak side. That sucks!
Are dyno pulls done in third or fourth gear?
Also, I have my spoon filter, but I'm hesitant to drop it in because I'm not sure if it's suppose to be oiled or not.
Haven't changed the transmission fluid yet but, thanks for all that helped.
Now BF Syncromesh, or Honda MTF???

Dyno runs should be done in 3rd gear on our NA motors 9usually) but the results are withon 1-2 HP of each other anyway. I did back-to-back dyno runs in 3rd and 4th and the results were similar.

Are these numbers SAE corrected?

161 is not a bad number it's in the middle of average. (157-165).

For the tranny oil, go with Honda MTF. If you don't like it, it only take extra 20 minutes to switch it to BGSynchroshift.

They dynoed my car in 4th gear. According to him that's the more accurate gear ratio. Hmm... I'm worried my car would dyno less than 160 in third gear. Not good!

3rd gear dyno yield a bit higher output as HX said in his post. My stock numbers were 162.7 whp in 3rd gear. (119.x lb-ft torque).

For the most accurate results, dyno pulls should always be done in which ever gear has the ratio closest to 1:1. On most 5spds this is 4th gear. On some of the newer 6spds, this is 5th gear.

Like I said...the results are pretty much the same..and if you are doing alot of runs...3rd gear will be better as it will take less time and less load on the motor..therefore not having heatsoak affect the engine as much.

EDIT: Ill try and try the dyno of my 3rd vs 4th
