can I remove an engine without removing it with transaxle?

Default can I remove an engine without removing it with transaxle?


I am switching a honda civic 1.5 motor for an identical japan import motor, do i have to remove the transaxle with the old motor or can i split the units and just remove the motor

Unfortunately not, you will need to remove the transmission with the motor.

You Could But it would be alot harder this way. It Real easy to just take them out together.

do your self a favor pull them both out out the same time unless you like fighting with **** and busting your knuckles.

well, when we swapped out my a6 for a newer a6..we didn't take the tranny out...It wasn't all the bad of an issue but it was harder to reconnect the tranny than it should have been, so I wouldn't do it that way ever again. we ended up breaking a flywheel bolt in my flywheel causing the need for a new flywheel, but it can be done..I just wouldn't recomend it to anyone.

Swapped out my D15 for a D16 and didn't take out the tranny. Ya I crushed my hand once and fought the bitch for awhile to get it back on. Slipped on very easy after I jacked up the tranny about an inch....
