Hello everyone, i received this clutch when i purchased a D16Y8 tranny. It's a clutchmasters clutch (don't know which kind exactly.) Anyway, I'm gonna clean up the pressure plate (outer) with brake kleen, so i'm just wondering if there's anyway i can re-surface the pressure plate, or if it's even possible.

If it's not possible to resurface the pressure plate disk, what is a good way of cleaning it? Oh and, does it even look as though this stuff is reusable? thanx.

 

From the pics it looks like you can reuse both. I'd just clean it like you mentioned and go over the pressure plate with some fine sand paper.

I have no problems reusing the pressure plate but everytime I pull my tranny for any reason I will replace the clutch disc. An ACT organic street disk are normally under a $100. Cheap insurance...... Still looks like you have some meat left on that clutch so if you had too you could reuse it but I wouldn't....
