i read the steps for reseting my srs light and the light is still coming on. Another problem with it is the side air bag light comes on if a passenger but it will randomly go on and off based on the way the person is sitting. do i have a problem or does something have to be done differently. I have a 2000 honda accord LX v6

i already followed those steps and it did not work.

 

What trouble code does it have stored?

 

Sounds like your OPDS (Onboard Passenger Detection Sensor) might be bad. Quite common on '00 to '02 model years. Only way to confirm for sure is to check what code(s) are stored.

 

the reason your side airbag light comes on is because the passenger is leaning towards the right side of the seat (by the support) and thus it is unsafe incase of a side collision so it goes off... try depressing the side support towards the right (around where your biceps should be when sitting properly) and it will come on
