has been siting for a few weeks and did not start so i jump it and when i try to start it the check engine light comes on and i here a loud noise and it sounds like its coming from something under the fuse panel in the car have no idea what it is checked all relays and fuses and there all good car ran fine when it was last run it is a 91 civic 4dr lx 5 speed thanks in advance

 

main relay. located left of fuse panel, behind coin tray, under the dash.

 

so you think i need a new main relay

 

yeah. if you know anyone with a fouth gen you could borrow theirs and try it just to be sure. when you turn the key does it even try to turn over?

 

does not try to turn over at all just makes that sound and can i use a relay from a 91 accord just to test it

 

that i'm not sure about. i think the main relay is like 60$ at the honda dealer. also search main relay because i know there are some write ups on how to resolder it and get it working again but i've never done it. i'll see if i can find one of those.
